The province of Nova Scotia is located on Canada’s east coast on the Atlantic Ocean. Nova Scotia may be the second smallest Province in Canada but its natural resources are enormous and there is a growing demand for more highly skilled workers. The province plays host to many unique Provincial Nomination Programs (PNPs) designed to attract and retain newcomers who will be able to fill gaps in the workforce and contribute meaningfully to local economies and communities. The Nova Scotia PNP uses the ‘first come, first served’ system, candidates may submit their provincial nominee application as soon as they meet the eligibility requirements of their chosen immigration stream.
There are several streams when we talk about NSNP which are as follows:
Nova Scotia Demand-Express Entry
Nova Scotia adapts the Express Entry system to select candidates for Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry. This stream is for highly skilled individuals with a post-secondary education and qualifications that will help them successfully settle in Nova Scotia. There is a list of 11 eligible occupations for this stream.
Nova Scotia Experience-Express Entry
This is another Express Entry category for highly skilled applicants who have worked for a Nova Scotia employer for at least one year.
Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities
This Stream allows the province to select Express Entry candidates who meet specified labor market needs. The skilled occupations specified under this dynamic stream can change with each invitation round.
Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities for Physicians
This stream selects Express Entry candidates who have an approved job offer as either a general practitioner and family physician (NOC 3112) or a specialist physician (NOC 3111).
